Take a name

The door isn't locked to anyone who asks. But an editor still has to admit you before what's kept below unlocks. Choose the name you'll be known by from here on. It isn't your legal name and no one but you will know the two are connected — pick something you wouldn't mind seeing signed under a comment or an argument, because that's where it will surface. If you'd rather not be recognizable at all, choose something that reveals nothing about who you are outside these walls.

3-20 lowercase letters, numbers, or underscores. This is the name you'll give at the door, and the name that appears beside anything you write inside — choose an anonymous one if you don't want the two of you connected. You can change it later, once every 30 days.

Kept off the record. Used only to reach you if you're ever locked out — never shown, never attached to your name.
